Privacy Statement
Last updated: July 17, 2026
This privacy statement explains what information CronExpression ("we", "us", "our") collects when you visit this website, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using this website you consent to the practices described below.
Your cron expressions stay in your browser
The Cron Builder and Cron Explainer run entirely in your browser using client-side JavaScript. The cron expressions you build or paste are never sent to our servers, stored, or logged — they exist only in your browser's memory while the page is open and are gone when you close the tab.
What personal information we may collect
We do not require you to create an account or provide personal information to use this website. We may collect the following categories of information:
- Information about your visits to and usage of this website, such as pages viewed, referral source, length of visit, browser type, operating system, and approximate geographic region derived from your IP address.
- Any information you voluntarily send us, for example when you contact us by email.
How we use this information
Information collected through this website may be used to:
- Administer and secure the website;
- Improve the tools and content we offer;
- Monitor aggregate, anonymous usage so we understand which features are helpful;
- Respond to messages you send us.
Cookies, analytics and advertising
This website may use cookies and similar technologies for basic functionality (such as remembering preferences) and for anonymous usage analytics. Third-party analytics providers (for example, Google Analytics) may set their own cookies and process usage data under their own privacy policies, which are outside our control. You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings; the cron tools will keep working without them.
We use Google AdSense to display advertisements. Google and its partners may use advertising cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this or other websites, and may collect data as described in Google's advertising policies. You can opt out of personalized advertising via Google's My Ad Center, and manage cookies through your browser settings.
Sensitive information
Cron expressions are schedule patterns and normally contain no sensitive data. Nevertheless, please do not paste commands, credentials, hostnames, or any other confidential material into the tools or into emails to us. If you work in a regulated environment, obtain any required approval from your security or compliance team before using online tools with work-related content. We accept no liability for confidential information you choose to submit.
Disclosing information
We do not sell your personal information. We may disclose information about you only:
- To the extent required to do so by law or in connection with legal proceedings;
- To service providers (such as hosting or analytics providers) who process it on our behalf;
- To a purchaser or prospective purchaser if this website or its operator is acquired, in which case the new owner may use the information in accordance with this statement.
Securing your data
We take reasonable technical precautions to secure this website, including serving it over SSL/TLS (HTTPS) whenever applicable. Because the tools run client-side and we do not store your expressions, there is very little of your data for us to protect in the first place. No transmission over the internet is ever completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Third-party websites
This website may contain links to other websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of third-party sites and encourage you to review their privacy policies.
Changes to this statement
We may update this privacy statement from time to time by posting a new version on this page. Please check back occasionally to make sure you are happy with any changes.
